A request for all the “boating snacks” Googlers

Hi boaters! There has been an increase in Googling for “boat snacks” this week. I am guessing people are gearing up for the three day weekend! My two posts on boating snacks are here and here. And, this weekend I am branching out in the “non chocolate” food group  and trying Pioneer Woman’s Oatmeal Crispies on my test kitchen and will also be making Pecan Praline Crunch (recipe below). Anyway, for those of you who have Googled your way over here, please leave a comment with any boating snacks suggestions and/or recommend some lakes for us to check out (seriously, PLEASE recommend some lakes… Mr. G and crew would be very interested to hear where Googlers are boating and what y’all have to recommend)  Happy boating and snacking!

And sometimes you gotta share the snacks with the fish!

PECAN PRALINE CRUNCH

8 cups Quaker Squares

1 cup coarsely chopped pecans

1/3 cup light corn syrup

1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar

3 tbsp margarine

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp baking soda

Heat oven to 250 degrees.  Spray 13 x 9 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.  Combine cereal and pecans in pan, set aside.

In microwavable bowl, combine corn syrup, sugar, and margarine.  Microwave on high 1 minute 30 seconds. Stir.  Microwave 30 seconds to 1 minute 30 seconds or until boiling.

Stir in vanilla and baking soda into mixture. Pour over cereal mixture; stir to coat evenly

Bake one hour, stirring every 20 minutes.  Spread on baking sheet and cool completely; break into pieces.  Store in tightly covered container.
