White Mountain Vanilla Ice Cream

Mr. G is returning his ice cream maker as it’s not working quite right… but before he boxed it up I had to make a copy of the recipes included. The vanilla ice cream is by far the best homemade ice cream I have ever tasted! Unfortunately it is in no way good for you 🙂  (Don’t worry about Mr. G, he will be getting a new ice cream maker!)

White Mountain Vanilla Ice Cream (4 quarts)
3 cups Milk
1 3/4 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups half and half
1 T Vanilla Extract
3 cups Whipping Cream

Scald milk until bubbles form around edges. Remove from heat. Add sugar and salt. Stir until dissolved. Stir in half and half, vanilla, and whipping cream. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes. Freeze as directed.
